ClearBank

ClearBank is the first new clearing bank to be established in Britain in more than 250 years. Founded in 2017, it gives financial institutions and corporations direct access to real-time payment clearing and embedded banking services, delivered through an API-first, cloud-native platform. The firm is regulated in both the United Kingdom and Europe, holding client funds at the Bank of England and the European Central Bank.

The company's engineering proposition rests on running entirely in the cloud with no legacy systems. Its work spans cloud-native technology, API design, real-time payment clearing and banking infrastructure. For technology leaders, the attraction is a stack built rather than retrofitted: infrastructure intended to be faster, safer and more reliable than incumbent rails, and delivered to clients as consumable APIs rather than batch-based connections.

ClearBank serves fintechs, banks, digital asset platforms and large corporates across the United Kingdom and Europe. It reports more than 250 institutional clients and processes upwards of 25m transactions a month. Industry recognition includes four consecutive appearances on the Deloitte Fast 50, Technology Partner of the Year at the British Bank Awards and Banking Tech of the Year at the UK FinTech Awards.
