Quantum Motion Technologies

Quantum Motion Technologies is a London-based quantum computing scale-up that builds scalable quantum computers on silicon, using standard semiconductor manufacturing processes. Its technical scope spans quantum physics, silicon qubits, integrated circuit engineering, CMOS-compatible fabrication and quantum computing architectures. In September 2025 the company delivered a full-stack silicon CMOS quantum computer - built on industrial-grade silicon chips using CMOS-compatible processes - to the UK's National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC). The architecture is reported to reduce cost and space requirements by a factor of 100 relative to traditional quantum computing designs.

The company employs more than 110 specialists across five locations: London, Oxford, Sydney, San Sebastián and Maryland. Its team combines over 40 years of collective experience in qubit and quantum computing architecture development and works across quantum physics, integrated circuit engineering and software development. Quantum Motion was founded by researchers from University College London and Oxford University.

Quantum Motion has raised more than £62 million in equity and grant funding, most recently a $160 million Series C round. Investors include Bosch Ventures, Porsche SE, Sony Innovation Fund, Oxford Sciences Innovations, INKEF Capital and Octopus Ventures. The company operates in the quantum computing, semiconductor manufacturing and quantum computing hardware sectors.
