CoreWeave is a specialized cloud platform built from the ground up for AI workloads, supplying the GPU compute power that companies need to train and deploy large language models at scale. Founded in 2017, the company serves AI labs, enterprises and startups across the United States and Europe, and operates data centers in both regions. It was named among the TIME100 most influential companies.

Unlike general-purpose clouds, CoreWeave's stack is purpose-built for artificial intelligence. Its AI-optimized GPU cloud platform is paired with a Kubernetes-based orchestration layer designed with AI workloads in mind, and with proprietary storage systems engineered for AI rather than repurposed from general-purpose infrastructure. The company's position is that the cloud of the future cannot be a repurposed version of the past, and it builds accordingly.

The company has taken an unusual path to its current position. It began as a crypto mining operation, Atlantic Crypto, before pivoting entirely to AI infrastructure. The team is drawn from diverse backgrounds, among them commodities traders and infrastructure engineers. Technical work spans AI infrastructure, GPU compute, large language model training and deployment, Kubernetes-based orchestration, custom storage and cloud platform engineering.
