The company was founded by former Google, Coinbase and Okta executives and is backed by investors including Accel, Section 32 and Prosus. Its customers include Fortune 500 companies, with deployments in healthcare, insurance, financial services and professional services.
Two products anchor the platform. The Universal AI Employee allows business users to build autonomous AI employees conversationally in minutes, rather than through extended development cycles, and is positioned as a unified, secure and compliant alternative to fragmented AI copilots. EmaFusion, the company's proprietary model, gives enterprises access to more than 100 large language models through a single interface, aiming for high accuracy at low cost and latency. Technical work spans agentic AI, LLMs, model fusion and ensembling, conversational AI, and AI security and compliance.
Security and compliance form a central part of the product proposition. Ema holds SOC 2 Type I and Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001 and NIST CSF certifications, as well as ISO 42001, the first international standard for AI management systems.
