Kingfisher plc is an international home improvement company founded in 1982, when it was established as a takeover vehicle for the British arm of F.W. Woolworth & Co. Today it is one of Europe's largest home improvement retailers, operating more than 1,800 stores across seven countries, with a presence in the United Kingdom, France and Turkey among others, and employing more than 74,000 colleagues who serve millions of customers.

The group runs a portfolio of established retail banners, including B&Q, Castorama, Brico Dépôt, Screwfix and Koçtaş. Its product range spans hand tools, power tools, heating, plumbing and home appliances, much of it sold under its own exclusive brands.
