Rowden

Rowden is an engineering enterprise founded in 2017 and headquartered in Bristol, UK. It builds and deploys sensing, communications, and compute systems designed to work at the edge - in environments where connectivity is degraded and central infrastructure cannot be relied upon. Its customers are primarily national security and resilience organisations, along with defence and frontline bodies. The company describes its focus as the edge rather than enterprise IT: systems that operate under constraint and make decisions in real time, with the stated aim of improving operational safety for frontline operators.

The company combines two capabilities: the rapid assimilation of commercial technology and in-house engineering and manufacturing. It operates more than 20,000 square feet of engineering and manufacturing facilities and employs around 160 people.
