XYZ Reality

XYZ Reality builds an augmented reality construction delivery platform and an engineering-grade AR hardhat designed to bring millimeter-level accuracy to building sites. Founded in 2017, and drawing on experiments with the underlying technologies from about 2014, the company employs more than 100 people and operates across the UK, the US and Europe. Its stated purpose is to eliminate rework and costly errors on construction projects by getting them built "right, first time".

Its hardware product, Atom™, is described as the world's first engineering-grade AR hardhat, integrating advanced hardware and software to deliver millimeter-level accuracy onsite. Alongside it, the XYZ Reality construction delivery platform unifies data across entire portfolios, optimises teams and supports the planning, build and delivery of mission-critical projects. The technical work spans augmented reality, hardware-software integration, precision spatial positioning and construction data platforms.

The company's work is concentrated in mission-critical construction, including data centre development, pharmaceuticals and general contracting. Its origins lie in on-site problems: the founder spent more than 20 years as a digital construction manager and architect, with experience on major European landmark projects such as The Shard and Battersea Power Station.
